If I Die Young

For over a year now, I have been listening to this song over and over again. Funny thing is I cannot get tired of this song. It's just so soothing, so I thought, hey, in the heck of study week I'll just put this up again for those of you to enjoy this song again. There is a part of the lyrics I seriously like it though. Enjoy!

If I die young, bury me in satinLay me down on a bed of rosesSink me in the river at dawnSend me away with the words of a love song

Lord make me a rainbow, I'll shine down on my motherShe'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colorsOh, and life ain't always what you think it ought to be, noAin't even gray, but she buries her baby

The sharp knife of a short lifeWell, I've had just enough time

If I die young, bury me in satinLay me down on a bed of rosesSink me in the river at dawnSend me away with the words of a love song

The sharp knife of a short lifeWell, I've had just enough time

And I'll be wearing white when I come into your kingdomI'm as green as the ring on my little cold fingerI've never known the loving of a manBut it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand

There's a boy here in town, says he'll love me foreverWho would have thought forever could be severed byThe sharp knife of a short lifeWell, I've had just enough time

So put on your best, boys, and I'll wear my pearlsWhat I never did is done

A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell 'em for a dollarThey're worth so much more after I'm a gonerAnd maybe then you'll hear the words I been singingFunny, when you're dead how people start listening

If I die young, bury me in satinLay me down on a bed of rosesSink me in the river at dawnSend me away with the words of a love song

The ballad of a doveGo with peace and loveGather up your tears, keep 'em in your pocketSave them for a time when you're really gonna need them, oh

The sharp knife of a short lifeWell, I've had just enough timeSo put on your best, boysAnd I'll wear my pearls
This song kinda reminds me one time how my Dad taught me on confidence....

"Dad, I don't think I have enough confidence in this exam this time."

"Chuen (What my father called me), you wanna know what is confidence? It's when you  set your alarm clock every night assuming you will wake up the next morning. Now that's confidence. Just trust yourself."

They say that when a person passed away, his words, his works, his marks became more valuable. It's true that my father never really set any alarm clock to wake him up in his life.
