Fun at its Peak!

My first semester finally over, what to do?? Celebrate of course... but when pocket runs empty and you don't have passport with you what do you do?? Go to the most affordable theme park in Malaysia - Genting Highlands. Recently they convert the name to Resort World - Genting. Yes, it's under the same management as Resort World - Sentosa. Well, if you're a Malaysian, 99% you have been there before and 60% I'm sure you been there more than once. If you're not gambling up there, it's actually cost quite cheap. From Penang to Genting the cost of a bus is roughly RM 70 return tickets and the theme parks entry fee is around RM51 off peak season. Though food there is quite expensive however I may suggest go for the steamboat or the international buffet which cost around RM50 and guarantee stomach satisfactory.

What I want to say in this post is definitely not to tell you about my experience there. You either had experience it yourself or you have heard it from others. If you haven't been there, you would probably wanna try it. Anyway, since most of us have been to this theme park, I would like to tell you other theme parks in the world. There are so many theme parks which one to choose from?? Choose the weirdest one of course... Here are 10 of them:

1) Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi, UA

Open recently, the first Ferrari Theme Park will also be the largest indoor theme park in the world with more than 2 million square feet. What's nice to see there? Sit the world fastest roller coaster at the speed around 200km/hr (56m/s) and the largest Ferrari logo.

2) Love Land, Cheju Island, South Korea

Warning: the next few pictures may contain explicit contents

Another reason for you to visit South Korea despite the advertisement we saw on TV all the time, strangely they left this theme park out. Or maybe our Malaysian Film Industry block it. Why? Because it's a sex-themed site. Known locally as the "Honeymoon Island", this park features all manner of porn-y memorabilia and art. To your surprise, this park was originally created as an art exhibit for students of Seoul's Hongik University. Oh my gawd!!!

3) BonBon-Land, Denmark

Though this is a park made of confectionary, however the object and rides they created are somewhat weird. One example of the ride - The Horse Dropping and Hundeprutterutchebane. These roller coasters ride takes you to a journey around large mounds of dog poo, while speakers in the roller coaster plays the sound of a fart non-stop.

4) Diggerland, England

The English just loves constructers - remember Bob the Builder? Yeah, he's originate from there and so is Diggerland. Well, if you think this is nothing, I can assure you that the British are obsessed with construction equipment, there are not 1 or 2 Diggerland in England but FOUR! Crazy? Yeah, I thought so...

5) Išgyvenimo Drama, Lithuania

If you like communism and has US$220 in your pocket, then this is your place to be. For two-and-a half hour you will be able to go back to 1984-era. Experiences include watching TV programs from 1984, wearing gas masks, learning the Soviet anthem under duress and undergo a concentration-camp-style interrogation and medical check up.

6) Dickens World (aka Crime Theme Park),Chatham Dockyard, Kent, United Kingdom

Open in 2007, this park takes you back to 19th century where there is much crime happening during the Industrial Revolution ala Charles Dickens potrayals.

7) Suoi Tien Park, Vietnam

A buddhist-themed amusement park. This place features a Heaven Palace, the Park's vision of people undergo the stages of hell afters years of gambling, adultery and drugs in the real life. You can even ride air bike which suspended over a crocodile farm. Cool??

8) Harmonyland (Hello Kitty Theme Park), Japan

Need I say more?? Recently in Penang there's also a Hello Kitty shop open in a brand new mall called 1st avenue.

9)Nintendo Amusement Park, New York, US

A place where you can actually dress up as Mario and play a non-virtual game of the series itself.

10) Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal Studios Orlando, Florida, US

Also open recently, a place where the hardcore fans of Harry Potter can experience Hogwarts, dragons and even flight of the Hipogriff (Don't know whats that? Read more books!)

Thats all for this post, hope you enjoy the pictures...
